Acylinders, also known as Aspherical Cylindrical Lenses denotes cylindrical-surface-shaped lenses, the cross-section of which differs from the circular shape. In contrast to a lens, an aspheric cylindrical lens does not concentrate incident light into one focal point, but along a facal line without the influence of spherical aberrations. By reducing the Spherical Aberration on the focus axis, Aspherical Cylindrical Lenses can significantly reduce the beam size of a monochromatic source, providing a clear, small profile thickness that is ideal for building smaller profile thicknesses. Aspherical Cylindrical Lenses can be used for strong Laser Systems and Synchrotron Beam Lines.
